Making connection with God is the most important decision that anyone ever faces. The question is will you make the connection now when it counts or when life is past and you have no other options. The Bible (which is God’s message to man) says that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). That would include you…come to think of it, that would include me. The Bible also states that “the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ”That is found in Romans 10:9 …notice the ‘connection’ between God and Jesus Christ?
Later in the same book, it makes plain that “righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. “There is a definite relationship there that psychics, bankers, Buddha, and Gandhi have never managed. The Bible speaks further that “if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ”WOW! What a deal!
Hey, if you are going to remember any one thing from all this, remember this…”Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. ”It is literally that easy! You can’t make it any easier than that.
Listen, if you think you are ready to make that decision…just do this: pray this prayer.
“Father God, I admit that I am a sinner, though I may not yet understand everything about You. Apparently, You paid the wages of sin for Me, and I believe it to be true. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for that payment and that He rose from the dead to give me a new life. I now confess as the Bible says that Jesus is Lord…in particular, Lord over me now, and I thank you for the gift that you have afforded me at your expense. Thank You, thank you, thank You for doing this for me and I pray this and accept it by the authority of your Son, Jesus.It is by His name I pray, Amen!”
If you prayed that in sincerity, you are now what is coined, ‘a child of God’. It is our strong suggestion that you find yourself two things…a Bible and a church.
